A Light in the darkest sky :)

That’s how I’ll always picture her.

How she’s been, all these years, mere numbers, if I were to count them, I’ve known her. Not just a few years but an aeon, more, lifetimes.

A firebrand. A friend. A passionate writer. A sensitive, yet fun teacher. A grounded mom. A friend you can call anytime and vent and rant, and she’ll fiercely hold you close to her heart while you do so.

The virtual world throws at you the fanciest and the funniest and the scariest and the most comforting. She’s all that. Ooops, sorry, not the scariest. Never. Ever. Shooo … That was a slip of the keys 🙂

She’s one of the reasons I find smiles easy, when I’m in a spot 🙂

She’s easy to talk to, and I know that even if we talk maybe months later, we’d still pick up that line we left off at and guffaw to our hearts’ content 🙂

You’ll know, when you interact with her, that her heart is in the right place. A place you’re invited to, with warmth, with the effervescence of her beautiful smile.

She’s the most generous of souls, with her time, her laughter, her patient listening heart, her acceptance of what she might never try to impose… and most of all, a firm and assertive person, who, despite all you say, will accept, even if she she doesn’t agree. Agree to disagree 🙂 A lesson on how to do it, in as unobtrusive a way, and a yet a way that makes it work… 🙂

She inspires. As a person, a kind kind loveable loving person. As a friend. As a teacher. As a young mother of an adorable lad, who we, a group of us call Laddoo Gopal ❤

She’s Indyeah (LINK). She’s My Meggie (LINK). She’s Abhi, my friend.  Enchanting. (LINK)(Yeah that is enough to make her awesome 😛 )

A beautiful, warm human, gorgeous to boot, with a Lioness’ mane and eyes that sparkle, a lilting laugh, and words which giggle out when we talk 🙂

You’ve met her before, here, in all those links 🙂

Abby, Abhilasha, Meggie… and she celebrates another beautiful day today. Her birthday!

Happy Birthday, dearest Meggie. Love, laughter, rainbows, chocolates, fairy tales, and savouries…. along with a whole host of dreams, all in good health and cheer… may these be yours, this day, the coming year, and ever more.

Love you sweetheart ❤ You’re one of the best!

Of Beginnings; Of Birthdays and a Sorority to Cherish :)

It’s a beginning, once again. A cycle of time, regenerates itself, in different parts of our land. Today, the 13th April, it is Baisakhi, it is Bihu, a time to celebrate a harvest, a start, a closure too. Tomorrow, 14th April, it is Vishu, and yet another Medam, (the first month in the Lunar Calendar, in Kerala) takes birth. The link to the post on Vishu has been receiving visitors aplenty, and that is why it is linked here, so that those who wish to know more about it may just pop thataway and do so 🙂 And for the setting of the Vishukani, you could get a bit of Mother’s Advice here 😀 (The post is Vishuaashamsagal…)

The best wishes of the season to each and everyone. May the glorious golden of the Konna Flowers bestow that selfsame richness in each aspect of your lives, touching it with prosperity and good fortune!

**************

The month of April is wonderful for other reasons too! My first born, Arjun, celebrates his birthday, and so do other loved ones. My elder brother, Viju, Commodore V.K. Pisharody, on the day after Vishu.

This year, I want to spread my net of gladness, and send out loving wishes to other Ariens who have touched my life, inspiring, scaffolding, being supportive, being the patient listening ear, being part of the sorority that has surrounded me with the deepest empathy and given me the benediction of their friendship, unconditionally and unerringly known each time I needed to have a shoulder to lean on, and bawl my head off, figuratively, of course 😛 :P! Well on occasion, literally as well.

My dearest friends, this is to wish each of you
A day and year filled with laughter, and nothing blue
Moments spent in gladness, each day anew
May worries and stresses, be far, and few
All love, and God’s Blessings, I do wish YOU 🙂 🙂

Elsie Abraham, for the 14th April

Omana Vasudevan, for the 18th April

Renuka Menon, for the 19th April

Ladies, you are the best there is!!! This post is entirely dedicated to each of you! Advance wishes for a Great Day, followed by the best year, so far! I pray that each of you finds that life unfolds in just the way you wished it would! 🙂 🙂

Beautiful songs, too, to go with the wishes: Below 🙂 🙂

That’s What Friends Are For

BY Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Gladys Knight

Another link to the same song which has an amazing quatret singing this song – Dionne Warwick, Whitney Huston, Luther Vandross and Stevie Wonder!

And yes, I will always look to you, for succor and support as I have been, all these years 🙂 Thank you for being part of what makes me ME 🙂 🙂 The song below says it all!

I Look to You, Whitney Huston:

Once again, Vishuaashamsagal to one and all!

(P.S. Sorry it’s such a linky linky post 😛 😛 )

Thiruvonam

Happy Onam, dear readers 🙂 We had a wonderful day today, at my parents’ place 🙂 A few pictures of the pookalam, the flower carpet are shared here, for your pleasure 🙂

Ahem! Finishing touches… 🙂

The Thampuraans and Thampuraattys… that is what we call the royal personages of the erstwhile land 🙂 At our family temple atop a little hill! Only two of the lot are true blue mallus!

Blessed!

*This one is for the SB… 🙂 who makes me realize each day, how much more I have to learn, appreciate, and love 🙂 Thanks a zillion, sweetheart 🙂

Now that I am officially twenty-five years old, the X-files option to disclose is finally here!

By the way, why does to reveal have a word like “disclose”, to express it? Strange are the ways of the English Language! This will further get me into rambling about the vagaries of a favourite language of mine, so I had better stop before I start! 😛

Ah! You’re still here, and reading? Maybe you’re wondering what on earth I am going to disclose… 😉 Just a status message on Facebook, by the SB wishing his brother a Happy Birthday, that goes like this 🙂

Happy b’day Arjun Muralidharan on ur 25th 🙂 It was nice growing up with someone like you, – someone to lean on, someone to count on… someone to tell on! 🙂 😛 😀 Hav a great yeah ahead!!

And his response?

Thanks bro.. wat do i say.. cudn hav done it without you. All those years, those games, those rides.. seems like it was yesterday and i sure do wish like hell it will remain like that forever. Though i shud say, i hate it wen u keep growing up.. i always wish ud remain “chotu” Love u loads.. BRO

I am reminded of the song, from Ram Lakhan, “Mere Do Anmol Ratan”, that I love so much.

That’s them… 🙂

And what I feel most blessed is that the SB has found words, to express so beautifully his feelings! Prouder yet again, am I, of him :), for he has borne the brunt of many a dark day I have gone through, being there for me, always, but always… 🙂 And though we fight the hardest, 😛 :P, I know he will be the one who will pull me through the fires I burn in 🙂 🙂

Ash 🙂 You’re the coolest, most happening person, ever 🙂 Thank you, for you 🙂

And though I don’t need to say it… Love you… 🙂
