Wings of Fancy

How do you lock down;
Batten down the hatches
On the craft at
Stormy seas?

Churning waves of disquiet.

The other kind of quiet
Is merely a cue,
A prelude, if you wish,
To the Overture of the
Tumult.

That’s when you escape.
Release the catch.
That kept you in place.

Fly. Erupt maybe.
But yes, lose yourself
Like never before.

That’s the only way
You keep you.

23 April, 2021, Day#23 of #napowrimo 2021

I wrote this one on 29th March. Little did I realise that I would feel this, on the day I’m sharing it on the blog. The tumult. The escape. The storm within.

My country is going through collective trauma. Those who still can feel and see are, that is. The pandemic is a never ending trauma. Lives taken, through disastrous management of resources and poor leadership in a situation where personal gains of the leadership far outweighs its inherently unassailable responsibility to its peoples.

Failure is writ large on them.

It is the ones who still have a conscience, that work, selflessly, relentlessly, unconditionally towards healing and solace. Gazillion amount of gratitude to them doesn’t cover it. This includes overworked health care workers, those at crematoriums, the volunteers working at their devices on gathering, verifying data, and disseminating information on resources, every person who will rage against this dying night…

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You are my water colour wheel of hope.

Thank you Swati for the session today and Elsa for this gift
Naina also made one ❤

  1. Riding out this prolonged storm
    Has become an exhausting norm
    One’s kismat or karma
    Is like this mandala
Bright or bleak in Russion Roulette form!
