A Quest on Overdrive … :)

An eccentric rambler on life's lessons and mercies, found and lost… :)

The Honest Heart

I haggle with my feelings.
Thoughts too.
Never mind the emotions.
The battle is never ending.

Constant confrontations
Leading to compromises-
Have taken their toll.

My heart is constant,
Make no mistake.
And Loves,

But for how long
Shall it hold out
Against the vagaries
Of love’s demand!

How long shall it
Live, love, try to give
Good report, and prove
Endlessly, how much it feels.

How long?

I’ve made a deal
To help it decide.
I’ll provide the mask
I tell my heart…

Fashion it from hurts
Long sensed; anticipated; felt.
And weave a diamond bright
Shield. Hard. Brilliant.

The heart, it need not know…
That what passes through the light,
Never ever seems just so…
Having fragmented, into multiplicity…

And the colours, that then emerge
Speak the truth, they know.
O My heart, dear heart, fear not.
For we hold the patent, to that shining mask.

  1. Constant confrontations
    Led to negotiations
    She’d fashion a mask
    Set herself a task
To make a pericardium of compressed carbonations!

    • Woah. That comment is way better than what it commented upon! In fact each of the posts here is elevated by the comments that hide it’s weaknesses, and carry it with such elegance way beyond anything it could be 🙂 Thank you Gul. Hugsy!
