Astute as that pencil
Which moves on paper
Knowing how it marks
Knowing transient
Are those lines
Yet rejoicing they are made.
Astute.
Knowing that you make your mark.
Understanding it matters.
Discerning it may be bettered.
Accepting it will be obliterated.
And not a trace left behind.
Marking time.

Day#24 of #NaPoWriMo, another shortcut; a blog write, that became another #magicalmornings update on FB 🙂 and now taking its rightful place in the blog 🙂

Wow ma’am….I’m simply blown away by this poem, the message that it contained, illustrated with that beautiful analogy of the pencil 🙂 Somehow this managed to strike a deeper chord within me. There are some who are disappointed in life because they never became extravagantly rich or world-renowned, but I think that the most important thing in life is to live it to the fullest…….fulfill all your dreams…..basically, to seize the day, everyday. 🙂 And while I say all this, I hope that I’ll be able to live my life to the fullest as well….

The insight of Astute
Rendered me mute
Till a night’s sleep
Raised this peep:
The transience of Life is a statute!

It reminded me of Khayyam’s ‘ moving finger’,
like time, these lines too will not linger.
For some do the red marks denote danger?
of a more worse fate, will it be an harbinger?
Hope you marked well, or you might get marked. 🙂

Govind, moving finger 🙂 Nice imagery! And Khayyam! Whoa! Thank you! I should hope I do mark good, else I’d get marked as well 😀
