A Quest on Overdrive … :)

An eccentric rambler on life's lessons and mercies, found and lost… :)

The promise of life.

Burnishes, glows
In you.

Autumn coloured
Fullness flavoured
All knowing.

Ready to dive
Maybe float?
Or Simply glide
Perhaps Soar?
Leaping like a flame
Rapture, into it!

Eventually settle
Into the Earth.

The promise of Life.

(Watching that leaf, poised, on the Badam Tree opposite my class, while invigilating for an exam. The photographs were taken afterwards, in the evening when the campus was empty 🙂 )

  2. 😀 Glad you didn’t take offence 😀
You do know I like to kid around a lot 😛

  3. I can imagine how that leaf’s tantalising presence made you pen this beautiful verse 🙂

  4. the promise of life 🙂

“Turning a new leaf” has a literally new meaning for me here. Though not explicit, i think it is implied 🙂

i love the simplicity of this creation. and also Shail’s perfect observation.

  5. Usha you have captured it all
not missing even a detail so small
like a martyr waiting for his call
the leaf too waits for a cause to fall.
Lucky students to have an invigilator with a poetic bend of mind. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Ah Govind, missed your quatrains all these days 🙂
Thank you for gracing this one with your inimitable touch 🙂
The students being lucky I don’t know – I’m still eagle-eyed, and don’t ask me how. It’s what I do… So I walk around and grab that paper, scribble in it, and generally tune out while staying in 🙂 A few more “Class” writes to share – shall do them soon 🙂

      Thank you so very much!

  6. 🙂 Can’t wait for the drama sessions to start!
Personally I’d like to be one of the witches from Macbeth!
That does suit me well! 😀
Plus you are our mentor! *Super Excited*
