The Sky is an ocean too …
Dying to be, more ….
Like the seas,
Sometimes blue,
Or is it emrald
A touch of stormy grey?

It has no waves, sadly
And yearns so much …
And then on wings of wishes
They come;

White, cottony, frothy
Selfsame, those waves…
And lap the edges of that
Nothingness, which remains

Quiescent, waiting.

Gently around the edges
Slowly spreading out…
So that, soon, it shall be
Blue no more …

Online, after yearning, here too 🙂

  1. I’d supply the prompts sooner (and in more numbers) if such are the results!
    Wonderfully crafted.

    • 🙂 Please do so…. the photographs will flow on beautifully, but the words that attempt to grace them might just not do them justice 😀
And so I leave them be, rather than desecrate them with nonsense. However, sometimes, like this one, and the earlier ones, there is something that just has to get out 🙂
Thank you, Shail! At the risk of repeating myself, for the nth time, you are an inspiration 🙂

  2. Two days before the sky here staged a lovely show of clouds that resembled waves. My little one was busy trying to figure out all the shapes she has learnt.
Now I understand what the show meant. Beautiful!

  3. What a beautiful post to accompany the limitless blue sky! 🙂 Loved them both, Usha Di. 🙂

  4. Aren’t we all in parts like the sky
what others are or have we always eye
and feeling unhappy about it we cry
unable to be happy with what we have, only the lord knows why.

I know this doesn’t do justice to either the picture or the poetry.

    • Unable to happy,
      Even the sky
So it looks for ways to cry
Just like you and I 🙂

Thank you Govind. I always like the refreshing and apt quatrains you bring in, you know that! And always, these add to the write and lend it a flavour that elevates its mundane quality. The photograph is poetry. And your verse further deepens it 🙂

  5. lovely prompt and lovelier rendering of the prompt in your words 🙂

i will think differently and smile when i look at the sky next time! 🙂
